What is gypsum ceiling tile?

Material Composition:Gypsum ceiling tiles are primarily made from building gypsum, with additives and fibers incorporated. Some tiles may have a paper or aluminum foil surface to enhance their performance and appearance.
Common Sizes:Standard sizes include 600mm×600mm, and there are also other specifications like 1200mm×2400mm available, with thicknesses typically ranging from 8mm to 12.5mm.
Advantages:They are lightweight, making installation easy and reducing the load on the building structure. They also offer good thermal insulation, fire resistance, and soundproofing properties. Additionally, gypsum tiles are easy to cut and shape, allowing for a variety of decorative effects, and they are environmentally friendly as they are made from natural gypsum.
Disadvantages:Gypsum ceiling tiles have some drawbacks, such as being prone to cracking under impact or over time, having poor moisture resistance which can lead to mold growth in humid environments, and having limited load-bearing capacity.
Installation Method:Generally, they are installed on a suspended ceiling framework. Hanger wires are first attached to the main ceiling, and then metal crossbars are hung from these wires to form the grid on which the gypsum tiles are placed.
