High Efficiency Rock Mineral Wool Board Laying, Sewing, Cutting and Forming Production Line

Rock wool board is a mineral fiber board produced from basalt as the main raw material. The stone is melted at high temperature, fiberized, processed and finally formed into rigid boards through a series of continuous technological steps. Because the material is non-combustible, thermally insulating and acoustically absorbent, rock mineral wool board is now a default specification for curtain walls, industrial roofs, partition systems and fire-rated building envelopes across Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Africa.

Hebei Greens Building Material Technology Development Co., Ltd. now offers a high efficiency rock mineral wool board laying, sewing, cutting and forming production line that integrates the complete process — from raw material batching to finished board stacking — into one synchronized, automated flow.

Complete Process Flow: From Basalt to Finished Board

The line is engineered as a continuous production chain. Every station is mechanically linked and speed-matched, so the material never leaves the process for manual transfer:

  1. Raw material charging. Basalt, dolomite and binder are proportioned and lifted into the hopper by the elevator, then fed into the melting furnace.
  2. Melting. The furnace heats the batch into a homogeneous melt, which flows out through the melt flow tank at a controlled temperature and discharge rate.
  3. Fiberizing. The lava stream is cooled and spun into fibers by the high-speed centrifuge, then blown into the fiber forming (collection) chamber.
  4. Binder application. Binder is sprayed into the fiber stream during collection, while negative pressure air draws the fibers down onto the mesh belt to form the primary felt.
  5. Pendulum laying (sewing). The mesh belt carries the primary felt to the pendulum cloth machine, which folds and cross-lays the fibers in multiple layers to build thickness and uniform density.
  6. Curing. The laid felt is transported into the curing furnace and runs forward between the upper and lower chain belts while hot air blowers circulate hot air through the mat, curing the binder and setting the board.
  7. Cutting and forming. The cured product is cut to size — longitudinal cutting first, then transverse cutting — to reach the required length, width and square edge.
  8. Packing and storage. Finished boards are packed and put into storage, ready for shipment.

Raw Materials and Their Function

Raw Material Function in the Process
Basalt Primary mineral source; determines fiber strength, temperature resistance and fire performance.
Dolomite Modifies melt viscosity and acidity modulus, improving fiberizing stability and board durability.
Binder Sprayed during fiber collection; cures in the curing furnace to bond fibers into a rigid, dimensionally stable board.

Key Advantages of the Line

  • One continuous flow. Melting, fiberizing, pendulum laying, curing, cutting and forming are linked in a single line, reducing handling, labor and material loss between stations.
  • Stable board quality. Multi-layer pendulum cross-laying combined with controlled hot-air curing gives uniform density, flatness and consistent mechanical strength across the full width of the board.
  • Precise sizing. Longitudinal and transverse cutting stations deliver accurate dimensions and clean edges, minimizing downstream waste for facade and partition projects.
  • Energy-conscious thermal design. Hot air is circulated through the curing furnace and the melt flow is stabilized to keep fuel consumption per ton under control.
  • Flexible capacity configuration. Line speed, mesh belt width and furnace length can be matched to the target output and board thickness range of each project.
  • Low maintenance, high uptime. Heavy-duty chain belt and drive systems are designed for continuous three-shift operation, with accessible service points for fast maintenance.

Typical Applications

Boards produced on this line are used for external wall insulation and curtain wall cores, metal sandwich panel cores, industrial furnace and pipe insulation, fire compartment partitions, acoustic ceilings and marine / offshore modules.

Engineering and Export Support

Hebei Greens Building Material Technology Development Co., Ltd. has been manufacturing building material machinery since 2013, with a 100–150 person team and 80%–90% of output delivered to overseas projects. For this rock mineral wool line we provide layout engineering, utility and foundation drawings, installation supervision, commissioning, operator training and long-term spare parts support, so the line reaches rated output on schedule and keeps running at it.
